Mississippi River at Dubuque affecting Jackson, Dubuque and Jo Daviess Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Burlington. * WHEN...From Wednesday morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water affects the Burlington Auditorium parking lot. Water also affects Bluff Harbor Marina. Water affects North Shore Marina in Fort Madison. In Dallas City, water affects First Street at the ball park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 14.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Wednesday morning and continue rising to 17.8 feet Monday, July 01. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Special Weather Statement issued June 24 at 2:46AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL Heat and humidity will build today, especially for areas in southeastern Iowa into far northeastern Missouri into west-central Illinois. Heat index readings will rise to between 95 to near 100 degrees this afternoon and early evening. If you plan to spend time outdoors this afternoon and evening, be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and take frequent breaks in shaded areas or in an air conditioned building. Also, be sure to look before you lock! Don't leave your pets or kids in parked vehicles.
