Flood Watch issued September 17 at 4:53AM CDT until September 17 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois, including the following counties, Carroll, Rock Island and Whiteside and east central Iowa, including the following counties, Benton, Cedar, Clinton, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Muscatine and Scott. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A saturated atmosphere will result in rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times are possible. Localized rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches could occur (10-20% chance) near the Highway 30 corridor. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
