Heat Advisory issued June 10 at 3:44AM EDT until June 10 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI * WHAT...Heat index values up to 101 expected. * WHERE...Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 10 at 5:33PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI The areas affected include... Detroit River... Lake St. Clair Open Lake (U.S. Portion)... St. Clair River... At 532 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm, capable of producing winds up to 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 8 nm west of St. Clair Shores, moving east at 20 knots. Additional thunderstorms were also developing and should move into the marine waters in 30 to 60 minutes. The strong thunderstorm will be near... St. Clair Shores around 540 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by the strong thunderstorm include Gibraltar. Mariners can expect gusty winds up to 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
