Paint Rock River near Woodville affecting Madison, Marshall and Jackson Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Paint Rock River near Woodville. * WHEN...Until Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Portions of Alabama State Highway 65 are closed due to high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 19.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 AM CDT Monday was 19.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. Flood Watch issued June 8 at 7:35AM CDT until June 8 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains in the forecast today. * WHERE...Portions of Alabama, including the following areas, Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan and southern middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Franklin TN, Lincoln and Moore. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Northeast Madison county and most of Jackson County in Alabama received 7-8 inches of rainfall yesterday. Elsewhere, 3-5 inches of rain fell in the watch area. Additional rainfall today will worsen flood conditions. Due to saturated soils, additional rainfall today will be almost entirely runoff.
