Flash Flood Warning issued June 7 at 12:18PM CDT until June 7 at 2:30PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL At 1218 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain and have closed some area roadways across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Huntsville, Madison, Fayetteville, Moores Mill, Meridianville, Redstone Arsenal, Hazel Green, Ardmore, Huntland, Gurley, Woodville, New Market, Alabama A And M University, University Of Alabama In Huntsville, Harvest, Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville International Airport, Lincoln, Paint Rock and Fisk. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
