Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Special Weather Statement issued June 14 at 2:50PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL At 248 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong outflow winds from thunderstorms along a line extending from near Havana to near Tallahassee to 9 miles northeast of Woodville. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. The Tallahassee forecast office on Florida State University's campus remported a wind gust of 35 mph ahead of storms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Tallahassee, Monticello, Macon Community Park, Miccosukee Road Greenway, Tallahassee Memorial Hosp, Rocky Hill, Miccosukee, Drifton, Killearn Estates, Chaires, Casa Blanco, Lake Ella, Forest Meadows Park, Pisgah Church, Lake Miccosukee, Apalachee Regional Park, Moncrief, Chaires Crossroads, Lake Iamonia, and Festus. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Movement was east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Tallahassee, Woodville, Tallahassee State College, Florida State University, St. Marks, Midway, Crawfordville, Florida A and M, Doak Campbell Stadium, Wakulla, Sopchoppy, Lake Bradford, Cody, Shadeville, Leon Sinks, Gaither Community Center, Wakulla Springs, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Walker Ford Community Center, and South City. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
