Flood Warning issued June 8 at 8:49AM CDT until June 9 at 8:45AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Labette and Neosho. * WHEN...Until 845 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 847 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported several roads inundated by water this morning due to heavy rain in the warned area. Flooding is ongoing. Between 3 and 7.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Parsons, Chanute, Erie, St. Paul, Galesburg, Earlton, Lake Parsons, South Mound, Dennis and Chanute Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
