Eastern Claiborne Parish in northwestern Louisiana... * Until 1245 AM CDT. * At 1029 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen this evening. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches with isolated higher amounts are possible in the warned area through 1245 AM. Multiple roads have been flooded and closed throughout Bienville Parish. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Monroe, Ruston, Claiborne, West Monroe, Grambling, Jonesboro, Huttig, Junction City, Brownsville-Bawcom, Brownsville-Bawcomville, Swartz, Farmerville, Richwood, Bernice, Sterlington, Ringgold, Strong, Cooley, Lapile and Urbana. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
