Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 11 at 9:23PM EDT until June 11 at 9:30PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire in most of the warned area. An additional warning will be issued for Harford and Cecil Counties. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for central and northern Maryland. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains in effect until midnight EDT for southern and northeastern Maryland...and central and northern Virginia. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service Sterling Virginia.

Heat Advisory issued June 11 at 8:59PM EDT until June 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC * WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 107. * WHERE...District of Columbia, central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, and central and northern Virginia. * WHEN...From 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
