At 534 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Ship Bottom, moving southeast at 35 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Ocean Gate, Little Egg Reef, Ship Bottom, Barnegat Light Reef, Garden State South Reef, Harvey Cedars, Forked River, Lavallette, Beach Haven, North Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Garden State North Reef, Little Egg Inlet, Seaside Park, Brigantine, and Pine Beach. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

Southeastern Burlington County in southern New Jersey... * Until 630 PM EDT. * At 523 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Chatsworth, or 22 miles southwest of Toms River, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. * Locations impacted include... Barnegat, Tuckerton, Presidential Lakes Estates, Surf City, Presidential Lakes, Bamber Lake, Brookville, Bass River State Forest, Warren Grove, Chatsworth, Old Halfway, Penn State Forest, Beach Haven West, Mystic Island, Ocean Acres, Manahawkin, and Waretown. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 53 and 78. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm, and the storm will affect the beaches. For your safety, immediately move off the beach and seek shelter indoors.
