Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina... * Until 530 PM EDT. * At 502 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from over Garris Landing to over Jacksonboro, moving south at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, I-26/I-526 Interchange, James Island and Daniel Island. This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 206 and 221. I-526 between mile markers 11 and 31. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds. Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Walterboro, Edisto Beach, Ladson and Givhans Ferry State Park. This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 180 and 221. I-526 between mile markers 11 and 31. I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 42 and 70. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
