North central Mingo County in southern West Virginia... Southwestern Lincoln County in central West Virginia... Northwestern Logan County in southern West Virginia... East central Wayne County in western West Virginia... West central Boone County in central West Virginia... * Until 730 PM EDT. * At 655 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Harts, or 16 miles northwest of Logan, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Logan, Chapmanville, Holden, Chief Logan State Park, Mount Gay-Shamrock, Harts, West Logan, Mitchell Heights, Mount Gay, Verdunville, Switzer, Dingess, and Breeden. This includes Route 119 between mile markers 23 and 46. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
