Redwood River at Marshall affecting Lyon County. West Fork Des Moines River near Windom affecting Jackson and Cottonwood Counties. West Fork Des Moines River at Jackson affecting Jackson County. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Floyd River at Merrill. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon to Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Flooding begins to affect the eastern edges of the city of Merrill, including some structures. The lowest portions of C44 also begin to flood. About 2000 acres of farm land are under water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 4.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 16.0 feet Sunday morning. Flood Watch issued June 21 at 11:37AM CDT until June 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following areas, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola, Plymouth and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the following areas, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock, and South Dakota, including the following areas, Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme, Brookings, Brule, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hanson, Hutchinson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Turner, Union and Yankton. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rain is expected Friday evening through Friday night. Storm total rainfall may reach 2 to 4 inches in many locations with potential for higher amounts.
