yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 6:30 p.m. MST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain. A severe thunderstorm about 60 km northeast of Whitehorse is moving southwest at 40 km/h. ### Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.

Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour. ### People more likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.
