Minnesota River near Jordan affecting Sibley, Scott and Carver Counties. Minnesota River at Savage affecting Dakota, Scott, Carver and Hennepin Counties. Cannon River at Northfield affecting Rice and Dakota Counties. ...The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in Minnesota... Redwood River near Redwood Falls affecting Redwood County. .Recent heavy rainfall combined with the forecast of additional rain and high soil moisture will produce additional rises on area rivers. Thunderstorms are expected later today and another round of significant rainfall is possible at the end of the week. Prolonged flooding is most likely along the main stem rivers with shorter duration flooding along the tributaries. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River near Jordan. * WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 29.5 feet, Highway 41 at Chaska may close when the river reaches this stage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 945 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 24.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 31.1 feet Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.7 feet on 03/23/2010. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
