The heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours is causing rises along many area rivers...with additional rainfall expected this evening. The latest forecast for the Sangamon River at Monticello has the river approaching, but remaining below flood stage at the current time. If additional river rises are forecast then a flood warning may be issued. Stay updated on the latest information in case a flooding threat materializes.
