Flood Watch issued June 18 at 2:05PM EDT until June 20 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia, including the following areas, in central Georgia, Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Butts, Crawford, Crisp, Dodge, Dooly, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Twiggs, Wilcox and Wilkinson. In east central Georgia, Greene, Hancock, Johnson and Washington. In north central Georgia, Barrow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Henry, Morgan, Newton, North Fulton, Rockdale, South Fulton and Walton. In northeast Georgia, Oconee. In northwest Georgia, Bartow, Carroll, Haralson, Paulding and Polk. In west central Georgia, Chattahoochee, Coweta, Harris, Heard, Lamar, Macon, Marion, Meriwether, Muscogee, Pike, Schley, Spalding, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, Troup, Upson and Webster. * WHEN...Through late Friday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of rainfall are expected through Friday evening. A significantly moist tropical environment across Georgia will support high rain rates and increased chances for flash flooding. Widespread rainfall of 2 to 4 inches will be possible with locally higher amounts of 5 inches or more. Some isolated higher wind gusts may be possible. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 8 AM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Special Weather Statement issued June 18 at 9:45PM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA At 945 PM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a line of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Tuckers Crossroad to near Cadwell to near Temperance, and moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind and increased chance of a brief tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...While winds should result in minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects, the leading edge of this line of storms has also exhibited areas of localized rotation. A brief tornado could quickly form. Locations impacted include... Dublin, Swainsboro, McRae, Eastman, Lyons, Soperton, Abbeville, Alamo, Mount Vernon, Wrightsville, Vidalia, Helena, East Dublin, Wadley, Twin City, Chester, Lumber City, Glenwood, Milan, and Adrian. People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central and east central Georgia.
