Special Weather Statement issued September 28 at 10:40AM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC Higher than normal tides combined with lingering high water from the wind event late last week are leading to some elevated water levels across the Morehead City, Beaufort, and Downeast Carteret County areas. The high water will cover some streets during the late morning high tide cyle this morning. Improving conditions are expected this afternoon as tide levels drop.
