Flood Watch issued June 18 at 2:38PM EDT until June 19 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee, including the following areas, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Northwest Carter and Sullivan and southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Lee, Russell, Scott VA, Washington VA and Wise. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Locally heavy rainfall from scattered showers and storms may lead to isolated flash flooding through this evening. Flood Advisory issued June 18 at 6:51PM EDT until June 18 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east Tennessee, including the following counties, Carter, Johnson, Unicoi and Washington. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 651 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the last hour. Additional rains of up to 1.5 inches are possible. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Johnson City, Elizabethton, Erwin, Pine Crest, Central, Hampton, Midway, Banner Hill, Unicoi, Milligan College, Embreeville, Hunter and Doeville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
