Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 23 at 5:13PM CDT until June 23 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 384 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 14 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COLLIN DALLAS DELTA DENTON FANNIN GRAYSON HOPKINS HUNT KAUFMAN LAMAR RAINS ROCKWALL TARRANT VAN ZANDT THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALLEN, ARLINGTON, BONHAM, CANTON, CARROLLTON, COMMERCE, COOPER, DALLAS, DENISON, DENTON, EAST TAWAKONI, EDGEWOOD, EMORY, FLOWER MOUND, FORNEY, FORT WORTH, FRISCO, GRAND SALINE, GREENVILLE, HEATH, KAUFMAN, LEWISVILLE, MCKINNEY, PARIS, PLANO, POINT, ROCKWALL, SHERMAN, SULPHUR SPRINGS, TERRELL, VAN, AND WILLS POINT.

Flood Advisory issued June 23 at 4:53PM CDT until June 23 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Fannin County in north central Texas... Lamar County in north central Texas... * WHEN...Until 800 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 453 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paris, Bonham, Reno, Leonard, Honey Grove, Blossom, Savoy, Ector, Roxton, Trenton, Dodd City, Ravenna, Crockett Lake, Coffee Mill Lake, Sumner, Lake Gibbons, Lake Crook, Pat Mayse Lake and Lake Bonham. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Special Weather Statement issued June 23 at 5:43PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 542 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Coffee Mill Lake to near Ravenna. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Other locations impacted by these storms include Telephone, Ivanhoe, Duplex, Direct, Sowells Bluff, Forest Hill, Bug Tussle, Petty, Globe, and Brookston. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for north central Texas.
