Heat Advisory issued June 12 at 12:28AM EDT until June 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and south central Virginia. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued June 12 at 7:16PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA At 716 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Louisa to near Ferncliff to near Palmyra. Movement was east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Louisa, Ferncliff, and Kents Store around 720 PM EDT. Mineral around 740 PM EDT. Hadensville around 745 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Dixie, Pendleton, Louisa Airport, Green Springs, Stage Junction, Zion Crossroads, Central Plains, Cuckoo, Caledonia, and Wildwood. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central Virginia.
