Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rain this morning which may cause localized flash flooding. Additional showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rain and localized flash flooding tonight when another flood watch for flash flooding may be needed. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation. Persons with interests along area rivers, creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Winnebago County in north central Illinois... Lake IL County in northeastern Illinois... McHenry County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 657 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms earlier this morning, with additional steady rain and embedded thunderstorms currently over or near the area. Minor flooding is expected to continue in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rockford, Waukegan, Buffalo Grove, Crystal Lake, Wheeling, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland Park, Lake in the Hills, Round Lake Beach, McHenry, Belvidere, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Huntley, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Grayslake and Libertyville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring.
