Flood Watch issued September 28 at 10:47PM MDT until September 30 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of northern and central New Mexico. * WHEN...Through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A near-record to record surge of moisture combined with two merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi-day period of showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall. Combined with already rain-soaked soil, there is a moderate to high risk of flash flooding. - Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems will be most susceptible. Rivers and streams will see rises, potentially reaching flood stage. Recent burn scars may see flash flooding, including the Ruidoso area burn scars, Frijoles, Sacaton, Hummingbird, and Whiskey burn scars. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
