Flash Flood Warning issued May 4 at 4:20PM CDT until May 4 at 7:15PM CDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX At 420 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. At 4:15 PM CDT, street flooding was reported in Fort Stockton. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2.5 to 3.5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Fort Stockton, Fort Stockton-Pecos County Airport and Firestone Test Track. This includes the following streams and drainages... Leon Creek, Comanche Creek, Hackberry Draw and Coyanosa Draw. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Tornado Watch issued May 4 at 2:33PM CDT until May 4 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 184 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST TEXAS BREWSTER PECOS REEVES TERRELL IN WESTERN TEXAS CRANE REAGAN UPTON WARD THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALPINE, BIG LAKE, CRANE, DRYDEN, FORT STOCKTON, MCCAMEY, MONAHANS, PECOS, RANKIN, AND SANDERSON.
