High Surf Advisory issued September 27 at 3:49AM HST until September 27 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF MOLOKAI, MAUI, AND THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH THIS EVENING... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHEAST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH THIS EVENING... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI AND OAHU THROUGH MONDAY MORNING... .Southeast swell generated by Hurricane Nolo is beginning to decline for the Big Island, but continues to produce advisory level surf for east and southeast facing shores. This swell combined with gale-force trades is producing advisory level surf along east facing shores of Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai. Surf will diminish below advisory criteria later today for the eastern islands but will likely continue through tonight for Oahu and Kauai as Nolo moves westward away from the islands. * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 ft in the morning, diminishing to 7 to 10 ft by this evening. * WHERE...East facing shores of Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
