Dust Storm Warning issued July 12 at 8:08PM MST until July 12 at 8:45PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ At 808 PM MST, a wall of dust was along a line extending from near Downtown Glendale to Liberty to near Cotton Center, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Less than one quarter mile with strong wind in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Public. IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel. This includes the following highways... AZ Interstate 10 between mile markers 110 and 149. AZ Interstate 17 between mile markers 195 and 207. AZ Interstate 8 between mile markers 110 and 128. Locations impacted include... Phoenix, Glendale, Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, El Mirage, Tolleson, Youngtown, Gila Bend, Laveen, Cashion, Sun City, Litchfield Park, Palo Verde, and South Phoenix. Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If caught in one, then pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake.
