Flash Flood Warning issued July 18 at 9:17PM EDT until July 18 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 917 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with reports of flooded roadways and fields in Easton and Royal Oak. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.25 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Easton, Denton, St. Michaels, Matthews, Cordova, Tanyard, Griffin, Harmony and Copperville. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
