HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Fayetteville, Clinton, Dunn, Godwin, Erwin, Eastover, Stedman, Newton Grove, Wade, and Salemburg. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 75 and 52. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 334 and 359. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Flood Advisory issued July 7 at 5:35PM EDT until July 7 at 8:45PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Cumberland, Harnett, Johnston and Sampson. * WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 535 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Dunn, Godwin, Pope AFB, Spring Lake, Erwin, Eastover, Newton Grove, Wade, Falcon, Linden, Spivey's Corner, Vander, Hobbton and Bonnie Doone. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Movement was southeast at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and heavy rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Clinton, Mount Olive, Fort Bragg, Dunn, Benson, Walnut Creek, Godwin, and Pope AFB. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 79 and 41. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 330 and 359. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
