Flash Flood Warning issued June 12 at 1:37AM CDT until June 12 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Tulsa OK At 137 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rains have ended across northern Cherokee County, but between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. Trained spotters reported multiple roadways near downtown Tahlequah under at least 4 inches of water. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Tahlequah... Hulbert... Peggs... Eldon... Scraper... Sequoyah State Park... Lost City... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
