Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - One to as much as five inches of rain has fallen across the watch area. Additional amounts of one to two inches, with higher amounts, are possible through early this afternoon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Southeastern Whitley County in northeastern Indiana... * WHEN...Until 130 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1036 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fort Wayne, New Haven, Woodburn, Monroeville, Grabill, Aboite, Leo-cedarville, Middletown, Roanoke, Dixon, Hessen Cassel, Poe, Maples, Wallen, Hoagland, Yoder, Nine Mile, Rolling Hills and Zulu. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Special Weather Statement issued September 17 at 10:28AM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana At 1028 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Churubusco to 8 miles west of Fort Wayne to 9 miles north of Markle. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Fort Wayne, New Haven, Monroeville, Aboite, Middletown, Nine Mile, Dunfee, Poe, Hessen Cassel, Zulu, Maples, Arcola, Hoagland, Tillman, Rolling Hills, and Yoder. This includes the following highways... Interstate 469 between mile markers 0 and 23. Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 296 and 312. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
