Fremont County in southwestern Iowa... Mills County in southwestern Iowa... Northeastern Otoe County in southeastern Nebraska... Southeastern Cass County in southeastern Nebraska... * Until 745 PM CDT. * At 657 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Weeping Water to 3 miles southwest of Nehawka to 3 miles west of Dunbar, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Emergency management reported winds up to 75 mph 5 miles east of Elmwood in Cass County. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Weeping Water, Union, Nehawka, and Dunbar around 700 PM CDT. Nebraska City, Murray, and Beaver Lake around 705 PM CDT. Plattsmouth around 710 PM CDT. Tabor around 715 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Sidney, Pacific Junction, Glenwood, Malvern, Randolph, Hastings, Shenandoah and Emerson. This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 10 and 32. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for southwestern Iowa...and southeastern Nebraska. Flood Watch issued September 14 at 11:24AM CDT until September 15 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE A conditional threat for heavy rain and flash flooding exists this evening into Tuesday morning. A line of thunderstorms is expected to move through the area with potential for at least 1 to 2 inch per hour rainfall rates and training thunderstorms. Areas that received recent heavy rainfall such as far southeast Nebraska will be more susceptible to flooding. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Iowa, including the following counties, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page and Pottawattamie and Nebraska, including the following counties, Cass, Douglas, Gage, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson and Sarpy. * WHEN...From 6 PM CDT this evening through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Recent heavy rainfall combined with potential for repeated rounds of thunderstorms this evening and overnight will lead to a flash flooding threat through at least Tuesday morning. Additional rounds of rainfall will be possible through the remainder of the week.
