Tornado Warning issued June 22 at 1:37PM CDT until June 22 at 2:15PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL At 136 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 9 miles south of Huntland, or 18 miles east of Moores Mill, moving east at 30 mph. There is also a second area of rotation that has since formed to the north of the main circulation. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include... Anderson, Hytop, Bass, Francisco, Jericho, Estillfork, Sherwood, and Larkin. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Special Weather Statement issued June 22 at 1:09PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL At 108 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Moores Mill, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Huntsville, Madison, Moores Mill, Meridianville, Hazel Green, Cowan, Huntland, Skyline, Alabama A And M University, and University Of Alabama In Huntsville. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for north central and northeastern Alabama...and Middle Tennessee.
