Flood Watch issued June 25 at 2:46PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through the area and bring 2 to 4 inches of rain with localized amounts up to 7 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Special Weather Statement issued June 25 at 9:11PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO At 910 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm producing a landspout 7 miles northwest of Carl Junction, or 12 miles south of Pittsburg, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Landspouts, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, Galena, Oronogo, Carterville, Duquesne, Duenweg, Jasper, Diamond, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Leawood, Silver Creek, Alba, Purcell, Shoal Creek Drive, Saginaw, and Carytown. This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 0 and 22. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
