Tallahala Creek At Laurel affecting Jones County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Black Creek near Brooklyn. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 21.8 feet, in the Camp Dantzler area, portions of JC Burt Road begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
