Special Weather Statement issued July 16 at 3:48PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 348 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles northeast of Pauls Valley to 4 miles west of Connerville. Movement was northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Ada, Pauls Valley, Sulphur, Wynnewood, Stratford, Byng, Roff, Stonewall, Asher, Wanette, Mill Creek, Byars, Fitzhugh, Hickory, Rosedale, Pontotoc, Fittstown, Vanoss, Reagan, and Connerville. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
