Rip Current Statement issued June 13 at 3:16AM EDT until June 14 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Walton, Bay, Gulf, and Franklin county beaches. * WHEN...through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 13 at 3:47PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Coastal Waters From Ochlockonee River to Apalachicola FL out to 20 Nm... Coastal Waters from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola out 20 NM... At 347 PM EDT/247 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 nm north of St George Island to near Apalachicola to 7 nm southeast of Port St. Joe, moving southeast at 5 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
