Flood Watch issued June 25 at 2:46PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through the area and bring 2 to 4 inches of rain with localized amounts up to 7 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Special Weather Statement issued June 25 at 9:17PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO At 916 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Carl Junction, or 9 miles north of Joplin, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, Oronogo, Carterville, Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Duenweg, Jasper, Diamond, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Leawood, Silver Creek, Alba, Purcell, Shoal Creek Drive, Saginaw, and Carytown. This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 1 and 32. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
