HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Greenville, Leland, Hollandale, Lake Village, Eudora, Metcalfe, Wilmot, Portland, Arcola, Montrose, Parkdale, Winterville, Darlove, Wayside, Mcmillan Corner, Estill, Avon, Tribbett, and Chicot Junction. For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 110 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Arkansas and central, north central, and northwest Mississippi. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 9 PM CDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 10 AM to 8 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
