Southwestern Patrick County in southwestern Virginia... * Until 630 PM EDT. * At 535 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Flat Rock, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Mount Airy... Flat Rock... Walnut Cove... Danbury... Ararat... Cana... and Francisco. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds, as well as deadly cloud to ground lightning. For your safety, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
