Extreme Heat Warning issued July 3 at 8:44AM CDT until July 3 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN * WHAT...Dangerously hot and humid conditions. * WHERE...Middle Tennessee. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM CDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Flood Advisory issued July 3 at 6:15PM CDT until July 3 at 9:15PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following counties, Putnam and White. * WHEN...Until 915 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 615 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cookeville, Sparta, Algood, Monterey, Baxter, Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers Crossroads and Burgess Falls State Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
