Flood Warning issued July 15 at 9:25AM CDT until July 17 at 6:15AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX ...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas... Sabinal At Sabinal affecting Uvalde County. Nueces River At Laguna affecting Uvalde County. Nueces River Below Uvalde affecting Uvalde County. Medina River At Bandera affecting Bandera County. Frio River At Concan affecting Uvalde County. Frio River Below Dry Frio affecting Uvalde County. Frio River Near Derby affecting Frio County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sabinal at Sabinal. * WHEN...Until Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Lowland flooding damages crops and floods pastureland cutting off and potentially drowning livestock in low areas of the flood plain. Secondary roads and low bridges flood severely as the flood wave passes downstream. At 24.0 feet, Major lowland flooding from the headwaters to the Frio River confluence. Very dangerous to campers upstream near Utopia. Many secondary and primary roads and low bridges are flooded and dangerous. At 28.0 feet, Major flooding threatens the "Utopia on the River" resort near Utopia. Numerous roads, crossings, and bridges are flooded severely. Livestock should be moved from vulnerable areas of the flood plain. At 32.0 feet, Disastrous flooding upstream near Utopia puts flow four feet deep in the "Utopia on the River" camp headquarters washing autos from the parking lot and threatening lives. Camping sites at a girl scout camp three miles south of Utopia are dangerously flooded. Secondary and primary roads and low bridges near the river flood under several feet of fast moving water as the flood wave moves from the headwaters to the Frio River confluence. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 18.2 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 33.4 feet this evening. It will fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 33.3 feet on 06/17/1958. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Uvalde County in south central Texas... * Until 200 PM CDT Wednesday. * At 732 AM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 6 and 16 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Uvalde, Sabinal, Concan, Knippa, Reagan Wells, Garner State Park, Uvalde Estates, Laguna, Montell, Utopia, Cline and Blewett. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

Flood Watch issued July 14 at 1:59PM CDT until July 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and Zavala. * WHEN...Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic flash flooding impacts are likely for portions of the US 90 corridor west of San Antonio, including the southern Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple rounds of storms will result in a dangerous flash flooding threat through Thursday. Storm totals of 2 to 6 inches are possible over the Flood Watch area with isolated amounts of 10 to 20 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau, and US 90 corridor. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
