Missouri River At Decatur affecting Thurston, Monona and Burt Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at Decatur. * WHEN...From late Monday night to early Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 35.0 feet, Local marinas, boat docks and low lying areas begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 25.2 feet...or 9.8 feet below flood stage. - Bankfull stage is 35.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Tuesday morning to a crest of 36.3 feet early Wednesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning. - Flood stage is 35.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
