Flood Watch issued July 18 at 3:57PM EDT until July 19 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Upton NY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union and southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Southern Queens and Southern Westchester. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - While the heavy rain over the area earlier this afternoon has passed to the south and east, there is still the likelihood of additional showers and thunderstorms, especially this evening. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Flushing, Bayonne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Plainfield, East Tremont, Linden, Coney Island, Secaucus, and Harrison.
