Dense Fog Advisory issued June 10 at 12:56AM CDT until June 10 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and South St. Louis, Southern Cook and Southern Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Fond du Lac Band, the Grand Portage Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band and the Bad River Reservation. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Madeline Island. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mainly around Lake Superior and near the Twin Ports. If driving, slow down, use your low-beam headlights and fog lights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 10 at 5:50AM CDT by NWS Duluth MN A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Chequamegon Bay-Bayfield to Oak Point WI... Lake Superior west of a line from Saxon Harbor WI to Grand Portage MN beyond 5NM... Oak Point to Saxon Harbor WI... Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland... Sand Island to Bayfield WI... At 550 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 19 nm southwest of Ashland Breakwater Lighthouse to 31 nm south of Chequamegon Bay, moving northeast at 35 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 25 to 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
