Tornado Watch issued June 20 at 2:40PM MDT until June 20 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS TORNADO WATCH 357 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 9 PM MDT /10 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN COLORADO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL COLORADO CHEYENNE KIT CARSON IN NORTHEAST COLORADO YUMA IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST KANSAS CHEYENNE DECATUR GRAHAM NORTON RAWLINS SHERIDAN SHERMAN THOMAS IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS GOVE LOGAN WALLACE IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA DUNDY HITCHCOCK RED WILLOW THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ARAPAHOE, ATWOOD, BENKELMAN, BIRD CITY, BURLINGTON, CHEYENNE WELLS, COLBY, CULBERTSON, GOODLAND, GRAINFIELD, GRINNELL, HILL CITY, HOXIE, MCCOOK, NORTON, OAKLEY, OBERLIN, PALISADE, QUINTER, SHARON SPRINGS, ST. Flood Advisory issued June 20 at 8:46PM CDT until June 20 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Kansas, including the following counties, Decatur, Rawlins, Sheridan and Thomas. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 846 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Colby, Hoxie, Rexford, Selden, Gem, Menlo, Dresden, Halford, Seguin and Leoville. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
