Tornado Watch issued June 27 at 9:20PM MDT until June 27 at 11:00PM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD TORNADO WATCH 406 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 11 PM MDT /MIDNIGHT CDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA MELLETTE TODD IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA BENNETT JACKSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALLEN, KADOKA, LACREEK WILDLIFE REFUGE, MARTIN, MISSION, ROSEBUD, SAINT FRANCIS, TUTHILL, WHITE RIVER, AND WOOD. THIS INCLUDES THE TRIBAL LANDS OF THE PINE RIDGE RESERVATION AND THE ROSEBUD RESERVATION.

Special Weather Statement issued June 27 at 9:15PM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD At 915 PM MDT /1015 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Lacreek Wildlife Refuge, or 6 miles southeast of Martin, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Martin, Long Valley, Tuthill, Upper Cut Meat, Vetal, Harrington, Sunrise Housing, LaCreek North Housing, Lacreek Wildlife Refuge and southeastern Pine Ridge Reservation. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions.
