Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 25 at 2:44PM MDT until June 25 at 3:00PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT At 244 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over South Salt Lake, or near Murray, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Murray, West Jordan, Taylorsville, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Emigration Canyon, Millcreek, Mount Olympus, Mill Creek Canyon, East Millcreek, Cottonwood West, Big Cottonwood Canyon, Canyon Rim, Kearns, Salt Lake City International Airport, and Little Cottonwood Creek Valley. This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 between mile markers 298 and 310. Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 115 and 134. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Red Flag Warning issued June 25 at 11:20AM MDT until June 28 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 478 Salt Lake Desert, Fire Weather Zone 482 Western Uintah Basin, Fire Weather Zone 484 Tavaputs Plateau, Fire Weather Zone 488 Manti National Forest, Fire Weather Zone 489 San Rafael Swell, Fire Weather Zone 492 Central Utah West Desert, Fire Weather Zone 495 Color Country West Desert and Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave Desert. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Winds may temporarily turn northwesterly and lighter on Friday night behind an initial cold front before returning to strong out of the southwest on Saturday. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 7 percent with little overnight recovery Friday night. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or are imminent. Movement was northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Murray, Bountiful, Taylorsville, Holladay, South Salt Lake, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross, Summit Park, Emigration Canyon, Millcreek, Kearns, Mount Olympus, Salt Lake City International Airport, Magna, East Millcreek, Cottonwood West, Canyon Rim, and Sugarhouse. This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 between mile markers 300 and 315. Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 108 and 135. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
