Flash Flood Warning issued June 27 at 8:27PM CDT until June 28 at 2:30AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY FFWPAH The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Gibson County in southwestern Indiana... * Until 230 AM CDT Sunday. * At 827 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in Gibson County, with numerous rural and county roads across the county flooding, along with water running across IN-64 east of Oakland City. Between 3 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected through the late evening hours. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Princeton, Fort Branch, Oakland City, Grayville, Haubstadt, Owensville, Patoka, Francisco, Somerville, Hazleton and Mackey. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to 110 possible. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ to 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Monday morning through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A prolonged period of dangerous heat and humidity is expected this coming week. This heatwave may linger into the 4th of July weekend. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
