Flood Watch issued June 8 at 12:42PM CDT until June 9 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of east central Kansas, including the following area, Linn KS and Missouri, including the following areas, Bates, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Pettis, Randolph, Ray and Saline. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
