Coastal waters from Murrells Inlet to South Santee River SC out 20 NM... * Until 445 PM EDT. * At 339 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 15 nm northwest of North Myrtle Beach to 7 nm northwest of Litchfield Beach, moving southeast at 30 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Ten Mile Reef, Murrells Inlet Sea Buoy, Little River Offshore Reef, Myrtle Beach Rock, Inshore Hole, Springmaid Pier, Paradise Reef, Little River Sea Buoy, Jungle, Little River Reef, Sherman Wreck, Belky Bear, North Inlet Reef, Cherry Grove Beach, Pawleys Island, Little River Entrance, Litchfield Beach, Surfside Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Garden City. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected.

Heat Advisory issued July 11 at 2:32AM EDT until July 11 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC * WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Allow outside pets and livestock plenty of fresh drinking water and a well ventilated and shaded location.

There is also a Moderate Risk of rip currents expected. * WHERE...In North Carolina, Coastal Pender and Coastal New Hanover Counties. In South Carolina, Coastal Horry and Coastal Georgetown Counties. * WHEN...Today. * IMPACTS...Longshore currents can sweep swimmers and surfers into rip currents, piers, jetties, and other hazardous areas. It may sweep swimmers off their feet, making it difficult to return to shore. Caution should be used when in or near the water. Check with lifeguards before entering the ocean for possible hazards you may be swept into.
